Practical, solid people management approaches are essential to all businesses. The challenges in General Practice are significant with excessive and sustained pressure resulting in difficult behaviour, increased interpersonal conflict, rising sickness absence rates, increased turnover and reduced workforce morale.
This session will help you to understand what needs to be in place to support clarity, accountability and transparency so that you can meet the needs of individuals and provide a duty of care, whilst ensuring the needs of the business and your patients are met.
The session will cover:
- Laying the foundations: terms and conditions and contracts of employment, job descriptions and objective setting, recruitment and induction practices, HR systems and managing personal data
- Setting expectations: line manager/employee 1:1s, policies and procedures/employee handbook: disciplinary, grievance, leave, absence, performance, flexible working and family-friendly policies
- Next steps and beyond: appraisals/annual reviews, values and behaviours, HR strategy and workforce planning
