The aim of this session is to explore what motivation is, why it’s important and how to create and sustain it at work. We will share the psychology of motivation to understand why we are driven to do our best work and the different factors that help motivate us as well as obstacles that can get in the way.
You will discover and discuss strategies for creating and sustaining motivation at work and techniques for resetting motivation. The session is focused on practical action you can immediately put into action to either sustain or build motivation at work.
The session will cover:
- Defining motivation and how it impacts performance and wellbeing at work
- The difference between intrinsic and extrinsic motivation
- Practical strategies to create and sustain motivation
- Techniques to overcome obstacles that get in the way of motivation

Rachel Thompson
Rachel is an experienced Chartered Occupational Psychologist and is passionate about using psychology to create healthy teams and organisations and support individual development. She has 10+ years experience working across management consulting, in-house roles and as an independent Psychologist with a focus on leadership development.
She is a member of the British Psychological Society, a trained Action Learning Practitioner and certified across a range of psychometric tools including Hogan Personality Psychometric.
