Session 6: SAFER Prescribing: Wrong diagnosis, wrong treatment
A patient may be prescribed the wrong medication for two reasons. Firstly, the diagnosis is correct but either the choice, the prescription, or the administration of the medication is incorrect. Or, the diagnosis was incorrect, which resulted in the choice of medication being incorrect. This session will look at some of the common causes of misdiagnosis-related medication accidents and what you can do to prevent them from happening to you and your patients.
