Meet the Team

The Kent & Medway Primary Care Training Hub is overseen by a multi-professional strategic and operations board with membership including practice managers, practice nurses, GP Tutors, and representatives from across the Kent and Medway Integrated Care system and Higher Education Institutes.
  • Clinical

    • Mayur is a GP who works clinically in Medway. He is the GP Associate Dean Clinical Lead for NHS Kent & Medway Primary Care Training Hubs. This means he works with our locality training hubs, NHS Kent & Medway ICB and Health Education England to ensure our primary care workforce are being trained, developed and retained to the best of our ability. He also has interests in developing multi-professional primary care leaders, digital and innovation.

    • Judith, a Registered Nurse and Queen’s Nurse with 25 years’ experience in Primary Care in across Kent & Medway, is a Clinical Lead for HEE in the Training Hub supporting and growing all multi-professional roles. She previously held the Clinical Director role in Canterbury South PCN, leading through the pandemic and has completed additional qualifications including a Diploma in Counselling and aim​s to empower friends, families, and colleagues to develop and support their own wellbeing.

      Judith is a Queen’s Nurse.

    • Tariq is a GP in a semi-rural location near Gravesend, who has long been involved with education for Kent, Surrey and Sussex, Health Education England and Canterbury Christchurch University.
      His current role is Chair of the North Kent Training Hub with overall responsibility to achieve the aims of the Training Hub for the people of North Kent, including Dartford, Gravesham, Swanley, Medway, Swale and Sittingbourne.

    • Tony is chair of the West Kent locality training hub. He is a retired GP who is GP tutor and Clinical Director for Maidstone Central PCN. He is Co-chair of the West Kent HCP clinical and professional board. He runs the West Kent CLIC group for GP trainees.
      He represents West Kent HCP on mental health boards and is a trustee of two mental health charities.

    • Jihad has been a GP for almost 20 years and is now working at Whitstable Medical Practice whilst sharing the role of GP Tutor for East Kent.
      He has a special interest in health economics, inequalities and mental health and has completed the EK VTS, followed by Psychiatric training and Section 12 Approval. Jihad sits on the Kent and Medway Primary Care Training Hub GPwER Accreditation Panel.

    • Alicia qualified as a GP in 2014, completed a Quality Improvement Fellowship and gained a PG Cert in postgraduate medical education. Her role is GP tutor for East Kent which involves being the Clinical Lead for the Kent and Medway New to Practice Programme and working with the Training Hub to deliver training and development opportunities for the Primary Care workforce.

    • Sati is a GP Partner, Clinical Lead and GP Tutor for the Training Hub based in North Kent.
      She has an interest in wider system change and has been instrumental in developing and delivering multi-professional education programmes in keeping with the vision of the NHS five year forward view.

    • Krish is a GP partner in North Kent at the Jubilee Medical Group He works in a number of clinical leadership roles in DGS as well as the wider Kent and Medway footprint.

    • Jane has been a GP locally for over 20 years having moved to the area to join the Tunbridge Wells GP Training scheme. She is the GP Tutor for West Kent, Deputy Chair of the West Kent Training hub and lead for developing simulation in my role as HEE KSS GP fellow for simulation. Jane is also the Faculty Education lead for the RCGP SE Thames faculty.

    • A Registered Nurse and Senior Primary Care Workforce Programme Lead, Sharon started as an apprentice in the NHS in 1978. She moved into Primary Care nursing in 1992 and fell in love with the job. Being a Nurse is a privilege to her and she still has patient contact on top of a day job that she loves, as it allows her to support the development of both the existing and future primary care workforce for Kent and Medway.

      Sharon is a Queen’s Nurse.

    • Sara, a Registered Nurse, has been working with the Training Hub since 2014.
      She is passionate about supporting people to develop and look at ways to help individuals “get into and go further’” within the NHS.
      Sara oversees Levels of Practice, especially Advanced and Enhanced Practice, Apprenticeships for clinical and non-clinical staff, General Practice Nurse support and placement opportunities including pre-registration and work-experience.

      Sara is a Queen’s Nurse.

    • With a wealth of experience as Adult Nurse, Public Health Nurse, Midwife and Health Visitor completed with a Master’s in Social Research Methods, Yvonne has a life-long interest in supporting the wider health and wellbeing needs of population groups.
      As a Programme Manager within the Training Hub, Yvonne leads on Wellbeing, Equalities, Diversity and Inclusion and is the Independent Prescribing Lead.

    • Philly has a background as a registered general nurse, health visitor and peripatetic university lecturer. She occasionally works as a nurse advisor for the RCGP, supporting practices in difficulty and supports the training, development and retention of all non-medical staff working in General Practice in West Kent. Philly believes in the wellbeing of all staff, in promoting compassionate leadership and having a mentor role.

      Philly is a Queen’s Nurse.

    • With a background in general nursing, midwifery and health visiting, Ann’s experience spans over 30 years in Primary Care, managing school nurses and health visitors, working as a practice placement facilitator, and being part of South Thames Research Network. She has worked more recently as a practice manager serving a practice population of 23000 patients, before taking her current as a Primary care Workforce Programme Lead.

      Ann is a Queen’s Nurse.

    • Sarah has been a Physician Associate (PA) for 12 years in Primary and Secondary care. Sarah is the new PA Lead for Kent and Medway Integrated Care Board. Sarah provides support and education around PA student placements, PA recruitment, induction and embedding PAs into surgeries and PCNs, education around PA clinical supervision, job plans and PA career development, through a variety of presentations to key stakeholders, online and face to face meetings/webinars and workshops and written resources accessible through the Training Hub.

    • Rachael is a registered Adult Nurse working in General Practice (GP) one day a week and 3 days a week for KMPCTH as Clinical Supervision Nurse Lead and General Practice Nurse (GPN) Nurse Lead. She has worked in General Practice since 2004, starting as a Healthcare Assistant (HCA) before training to become a Registered Nurse (RN) in 2008.

      Rachael is a Queen’s Nurse.

    • Calina started as a registered nurse in a variety of settings and is now working as an Advanced Clinical Practitioner in Primary care. Recently she joined the Training Hub as a GPN lead focusing on developing an induction pack for GPNs, improving communication, career developing and working on the GPN forum and Futures platform.

    • Alexandra is a Registered Nurse who works as a GPN in a North Kent practice. She has recently joined the Training Hub, and within a group of 3 Practice Nurses, focuses on nursing-related projects across Kent & Medway, such as the GPN conference, the Nurse forum, etc.
      Alexandra is responsible for nursing workforce attrition i.e. investigating the reasons why nurses leave and what can we do to improve retention.

    • Hazel, a Registered General Nurse, has worked in a variety of settings with her main focus on Primary Care Nursing; she is now the Primary Care Workforce Support for Trainee Nursing Associates, qualified Nursing Associates and Registered Nurse Degree apprentices within the Apprenticeships team and supports practices and their staff to enrol onto the appropriate apprenticeship training pathways to enable career development opportunities.

    • Prior to joining the NHS in 2008, DK worked in finance for international pharmaceutical and manufacturing firms. Now the Primary Care Apprenticeship Champion at the Training Hub, DK is responsible for leading strategic initiatives to grow and sustain Primary Care workforce – training, development, and diversifying – through a wide range of Apprenticeships roles ranging from Level 2 to Level 7 (Master’s degree equivalent).

    • As a Trainee Health Psychologist, Moa’s main responsibilities involve applying the COM-B model (which is a common model of behaviour within Health Psychology) to workforce transformation and redesign. Prior to her current job, Moa completed her BSc Psychology and MSc Health Psychology and has also worked as a Social Prescriber and Clinical Trials Assistant.

    • Monika acquired significant HR experience whilst working in the private sector (manufacturing and logistics) before joining the NHS in 2019. She works  as a HR & Workforce Education Lead at both General Practice and PCN level. Her work with the Kent and Medway Primary Care training Hub includes supporting practices and PCNs with HR-related development and training opportunities and running a HR mentoring scheme.

  • Management / Business Operations

    • Claire acquired a broad and varied experience in leadership roles in the public sector (prison service and primary school education) before she joined the NHS in 2016. She leads the Kent & Medway Primary Care Training Hub Business & Operation team, and supports large scale projects to recruit, retain and grow the current and future Primary Care workforce across the county and beyond (Kent, Surrey and Sussex and the southeast).

    • With a background in Health & Social Care as a senior manager involved in the running of dementia care and therapeutic children’s homes, Caroline has extensive experience in managing training, business and finance processes. Joining the training hub 4 years ago, she is a trained NLP Practitioner and Mentor and currently studying for an MSc. Caroline supports various programmes of work and manage the Peer Mentoring Programme across Kent & Medway.

    • An APM-qualified Project Manager, Katy has worked on a variety of business change-related projects within public sector organisations. In her current role, she manages some of the most popular Training Hub programmes: the New to Practice Programme, which requires collaborative work to plan the sessions and book a variety of facilitators, the Academic Fellowships and the CEF lunchtime sessions.

    • With a Master’s in Marketing-Communication (CELSA-Sorbonne Paris IV), Emanuele has worked in the private and public sectors in France, Canada and England (pharmaceutical laboratories, naturopathy, education and tourism), focussing mainly on off-line communications, editing and advertising. Her role at the Training Hub is to coordinate on training projects for Primary Care workforce and on communications.

    • Maizie began her career at the Ministry of Defence where she completed a Level 4 Apprenticeship qualification in PR and Communications. She moved on to her current role as Communications Officer for the Kent & Medway Primary Care Training Hub where she promotes the educational opportunities offered by the Training whilst improving and creating engaging content for our social channels.

  • Administration / Business Support

    • Terri is the Senior Administrator in the Training Hub, and P.A. to Sharon Lee and Claire Rickard. She has previously worked as a Personal Assistant in a doctor’s office and as store manager before joining the NHS in 2020 at East Kent Hospitals (EKHUFT) in the radiology department; She went on to provide Business Support to the Operational Coordination Centre/Urgent Emergency Care teams at the Kent & Medway CCG.

    • An accountant with BA (Hons), Edafe has over 20 years’ experience working in varied roles in both the public and private sectors, and currently work in the Business and Project Support team within the KMPCTH.  His responsibilities include but are not limited to supporting different Training Hub projects with an emphasis on data analysis and reconciliations.

    • Mel’s experience in administration covers over 20 years, starting off in London and most recently in Kent. She has worked in various administrative roles in different teams within the NHS including Learning Disabilities and Adult Therapy. Her current role, as a Business & Project Support team member, includes supporting the delivery of training programmes for the Primary Care workforce across Kent and Medway.

    • Before joining the Business & Project Support team, Su was the West Kent PCN Administrator; her in-depth knowledge of educational processes, CPD allowance, evaluations, certifications, reporting, PLTs, organisation of learning sessions is an invaluable asset in her new role, where she will support the delivery of training programmes for the whole of Kent & Medway.
