You may be aware of the statement from the PA national body, the Faculty of PAs (FPA) at the Royal College of Physicians, yesterday (Tuesday 10th September) informing members of the FPA closure in December this year and closure of the managed voluntary register (MVR) to NEW MEMBERS from November.

We’re aware that the closure of a profession’s National Body will incite questions, confusion and possibly anxiety during a turbulent time for the PA profession. It does not affect the ability of PAs to continue working in their current roles.

As a training hub we want to offer all PAs, supervisors and employers in the patch our ongoing support, though please be aware we are not party to any additional information beyond that contained in the formal statement, so for specific queries around membership, e-portfolios, CPD logs or registration etc please contact the FPA directly.

Should this development trigger queries or concerns pertaining to the use of PAs working in primary care, or if you are a PA and would like support, please reach out.
