Hosted by Kent Community Health NHS Foundation Trust (KCHFT) – all are welcome to join.
To mark 20 years of LGBT+ History Month, KCHFT is holding a celebratory learning experience from 10am to 2.30pm on Friday, 28 February at Trinity House in Ashford.
Hosted by their LGBTQ+ staff network, the free informal event will feature guest speakers debating this year’s theme: Activism and social change.
The conference is open to all clinical and non-clinical NHS system-wide colleagues, and partners from the voluntary, community and social enterprise Health and Wellbeing Alliance, who have an interest in, or connection to, the LGBTQ+ community.
The headline speaker this year is multi award-winning trans activist, journalist and freelance sex educator Dee Whitnell. They work with global brands and organisations, providing insight into sex education, LGBTQIA+ inclusion, the trans+ and neurodivergent experience and queer media.
Director of Student Experience and Senior Lecturer in Film Production, School of Creative Arts and Industries, Canterbury Christ Church University , Dr Liz Samson will talk about gender and sexuality in the context of leadership.
KCHFT’s Sexual Health Team will discuss their outreach work with local LGBTQ+ people.
Updates from Nobody left behind, KCHFT’s people, equity, diversity and inclusion strategy, will be shared by their Workforce EDI Team.
You are welcome to stay all or part of the day.
