In collaboration with KCC, KCHFT Adult Health Improvement have been funded to deliver Very Brief Advice (VBA+) Smokefree training to communities and local partners across Kent.
This FREE 2-hour training course will provide delegates with the knowledge and skills needed to be confident in delivering non-judgemental opportunistic Very Brief Advice (VBA+) to promote becoming smoke free. Delegates will be able to support, encourage and signpost individuals to make a life changing difference. VBA+ can be delivered in almost any situation and can take less than 30 seconds to deliver.
All individuals in community-based roles would benefit from attending this course. If your role brings you into contact with other people, you are in a position to deliver Very Brief Advice and support those you interact with to consider their smoking status.
Training Course content:
- 1 x 2 hour session based on KCHFT Adult Health Improvement Smokefree training and the National Centre for Smoking Cessation and Training (NCSCT) Very Brief Advice (VBA+) model
- Delegates will be able to Identify opportunities from their own practice to have brief, healthy conversations with individuals in relation to their smoking status
- The session will include skills practice and referral information for local stop smoking services as well as an overview of the wider One You Services in Kent
