We are working with NHSE to give people working in general practice PCNs and federations equal opportunity to participate in the NHS Staff Survey. This survey is one of the world’s largest and well-respected workforce surveys, gathering the highest standards of robust, quality data to inform our understanding of staff experience.  For over twenty years, it has provided staff in secondary care organisations with the opportunity to have their voice heard and now we are bringing it to you.

The NHS Long-Term Workforce Plan and the Fuller Stocktake commits to encouraging all NHS organisations to have staff feedback processes in place to ensure staff feedback is listened to and acted upon.  The anonymous results will help the NHS in England, the NHS in Kent and Medway and individual practices to understand what works well for primary care staff and what needs to change.

The survey will be carried out on behalf of organisations by an independent and impartial survey contractor, Picker.  The data collected is anonymous and subject to the highest standards of confidentiality protocols, anything said in the survey is kept confidential but used to gain a fuller understanding of life in general practice and steer initiatives to improve working life for primary care staff in Kent and Medway.

We will be working with general practice during August to collate the details of people in your teams to ensure they can participate in the survey which will go live in October.  Participation is voluntary but we would like to ensure everyone is given the opportunity to have their voice heard.

More details about the survey, including FAQs are attached,  here.

Further information and an opportunity to ask questions will be shared via future meetings and primary care bulletins in the coming weeks. In the meantime, if you have any queries please do not hesitate to contact yvonne.wilson10@nhs.net

We hope you welcome this opportunity and look forward to working with you.

Thank you for your support.
