Healthcare professionals all know how important breast feeding is in helping reduce obesity, promoting early speech and language and reducing infections in babies and young children.

It is said the UK has the highest obesity level in Europe, so every little action to tackle with this will help address health inequality and also reduce burden on our struggling NHS.

Kent County Council is looking to offer GPs training on breastfeeding infants. They are currently exploring the E-learning resource linked here: E-learning for GPs – Baby Friendly Initiative.

Anyone interested in accessing this training please contact Sheniz White  sheniz.white@kent.gov.uk
