The 2024/25 period has been remarkable, as we have achieved the highest number of Primary Care Multiprofessional Placements on record. A warm thank you to everyone involved in making it such a success! This year, 14 new organizations, including 11 practices, 1 PCN, and 2 Federations, have begun taking placements, which is fantastic news. Alongside this, we have seen an increase in pre-registration pharmacy and nursing placements, culminating in an impressive 463 placements, totalling 63,154.5 hours.
It’s important to note that this record-breaking figure does not include medical students, FY2, or GPST placements. However, while these numbers are certainly something to celebrate, our data analysis reveals that only 33% of practices are currently supporting placements.
We would like to encourage more practices to get involved, as the benefits of these placements are undeniable for both the organizations and the students.
