Dear regional and national colleagues,

We are pleased to announce the launch of the new national sexual safety e-learning package for healthcare learners and trainees.

This whole of the e-learning has been co-produced with our EoE student ambassadors, where their powerful voices & video, takes pride of place in the e-learning resource: https://lnkd.in/enhuSeWt

New e-learningBreaking the Silence: Sexual Safety for Healthcare Students and TraineesCatalogue

What started as a project in the EoE, and later partnership with the SW, it is now our ambition that all healthcare learners across England will have the opportunity to complete this training ahead of going out on placements: it is our belief that empowering the future generation of healthcare professionals is key to changing the culture around sexual safety.

  • Every healthcare learner and trainee has the right to feel sexually safe throughout their educational journey and on placement
  • Every healthcare learner and trainee is aware of what might constitute as sexual harm and recognise their own risks
  • Every healthcare learner and trainee is aware of how to respond and how to report issues related to sexual safety

Whilst the intended audience are healthcare learners (including T-Level), during our pilot phase it became apparent that practice educators and those supporting learners also found the resource beneficial. In addition, our medical colleagues in the EoE will also be recommending the resource for medical undergraduates and trainees.

Colleagues outside of the NHS are also able to register for a ‘General user account’, so they can access this resource,  as we have made it available for public access:

General user account: Create new account

Required information: Email address, Country & Current role (Colleagues may need to search, what the closest job title is)

We have included a comms statement below that you may find useful in disseminating the resource across your networks, once we are out of the pre-election period, where we will be promoting across the commonly used social media platforms.

In time, additional promotional resources will be available in a folder to download directly from e-learning for healthcare once cleared with comms, but we have otherwise attached a few in the in the interim alongside a PDF slide deck that gives further background and development detail, including student feedback.

Please do let us know if we can be of any further assistance, or indeed if there are any future opportunities to promote the resources.

New e-learningBreaking the Silence: Sexual Safety for Healthcare Students and Trainees

Everyone deserves to learn and work in a safe, respectful environment. The new Sexual Safety e-learning offers practical steps to speak up safely, set clear boundaries and get the right support—whether a student, trainee, educator, or staff member.

Feel more confident about what’s acceptable, what isn’t, and what to do if you see or experience behaviour that crosses the line. Understand where to raise concerns and how to support a colleague who shares an experience.

Take the e-learning to strengthen your own wellbeing and professionalism and help build a culture where harassment is not tolerated.

Thank you for your support and we of course would welcome any feedback you may have.
