Applications are now open for the distance learning or in-person PgCert/MSc in Clinical Education delivered by KMMS and accredited by CCCU starting in Sept 2026.
You may be interested in joining the course. Please also feel free to share across your teams and networks.
For Sept 2026, we are now offering 2 routes for completing the PgCert and MSc in Clinical Education:
- A completely distance online learning PgCert/MSc(with flexible delivery)
- A hybrid in-person and online PgCert/MSc (similar to current delivery but for the PgCert hours dropped from 134hrs to 88hrs for PgCert across academic year)
Both PgCerts options are accredited with membership to the Academy of Medical Educators (AoME) and Advance HE Fellowship.
Some more details about the PgCert in Clinical Education:
- Completely online PgCert: This allows for flexibility and students will access asynchronised and synchronised online learning via blackboard our VLE. There will be 2 hours a week live facilitation, with 2 options per week for attendance. With different days and at times of 09.00-11.00 or 17.00-19.00. Students only need to attend 1 session per week and they will be recorded. The assessments and content will remain the same as the already validated programme but will be completely distance learning. The timetables are already available in advance to plan your schedules (please see attached)
- Hybrid in-person and online PgCert: This will be delivered similar to the current PgCert but will consist 70% in person and 30% online involving 88 hours over the academic year. The online course will cover the same learning but we believe (as do our current student evaluations) that the hybrid in-person course does provide more opportunity for engagement and social constructivism learning but we are aware that it is also challenging to release staff at the same time. All assessments and content will remain the same but there will be less online asynchronised work compared to the completely online PgCert. We also have these dates confirmed to plan your schedule.
Students will need to register for 1 cohort either completely online or hybrid as they cannot interchange between cohorts.
We hope that this will provide you with more flexibility to release staff and gives you 2 options for delivery.
Our PgCert is very competitively priced at a cost of £3205 for both options and costs significantly less than other Universities offering the comparable PgCert. We also in addition offer group discounts (subject to University finance approval).
If a prospective student has already completed an equivalent PgCert they may also be able to apply for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) and add these credits into our MSc and they will not need to repeat our PgCert and can progress to the MSc (subject to RPL terms and conditions).
We hope that you may consider sending your staff onto our PgCert and also disseminating this across your teams/networks.
