KMPCTH wishes to share an important update regarding the government’s continued support for five L7 apprentices commencing their programmes between 2026 and 2029. One of these apprenticeships includes the Advanced Practice MSc.
We have been informed that the funding process will differ from the current levy system. Unfortunately, we are still awaiting detailed instructions on how employers can access these funds. However, we know that this funding will cover the tuition fees only, and the same rules will apply, such as 20% off-the-job learning, guaranteed role post training, etc. Additionally, the KMPCTH will apply for supervision grants as per the current process.
It is essential to note that accessing these funds will require a well-defined workforce plan and a demonstrated workforce need. These plans must align with the government’s 10-year strategy. Ensuring that our workforce plans meet these criteria will be crucial for securing the necessary funding.
It is predicted that Training Hubs may need to submit Expressions of Interest yearly or Employers directly. It is likely that the first EOI will be required in October 25 and the number and professions of those you wish to put on the L7 AP Apprenticeship for 2026, will be required.
We would appreciate it if you could share any plans, you have going forward with us as soon as possible, and as on an ongoing process. Please be aware that if EOI are not submitted funding will not be made available.
Please keep communicating with us and the HEI of choice, and as soon as we receive more information (predicted September 2025), I will promptly share it with you.
Please note, this does not affect the fully funded AP route that the Training Hub will be going out to employers for expressions of interest around October 2025. This is purely levy mitigation and the continuation of the L7 AP Apprenticeship as an option.
