On Thursday 6th November, the second year of the New to Practice Programme concluded their Quality Improvement Projects, showcasing their academic posters and project work at a Sharing and Celebration event.

Prior to embarking on the programme, each participant had to plan and deliver a project (with prior agreement of their practice or PCN) to deliver a planned benefit, to deliver an improvement to staff, patients, or practices processes.  Some of the chosen projects included:  Improving Safety Netting advice, use of antidepressants, staff wellbeing, reducing barriers to accessing healthcare, reducing patient wait times, improving HRT management,  improving staff retention, the power of lifestyle and exercise medicine and lipid engagement and optimisation.

There were a number of great quality posters presented which demonstrated the significant work that had been undertaken by individuals over the last year.   Two prize winners were awarded places on a Quality Improvement Coaching Programme offered by NHS Elect.

The full list of projects and the academic posters will be available on the Training Hub website for you to view by 5th December 2025.
