In 2024 we conducted a CYP2C19 survey for ‘assessment of a pharmacist’s ability to interpret, review and action CYP2C19 pharmacogenetic reports and obtain pharmacist’s views on the reporting structure’.

We had 117 responses from secondary and tertiary care pharmacists, but the results did not provide insights for pharmacists working within Primary Care Networks (PCNs) and Integrated Care Boards (ICBs) sectors.

For this survey, if you are a pharmacist working within PCNs and ICBs with 3 years or more pharmacy experience, we would like to invite you to take part in a postgraduate MSc research project at University College London (UCL). Your insights are essential to help identify education and training needs, and obtain your views when navigating through a pharmacogenetic report.

This study aims to explore how pharmacists working within these areas can interpret and action CYP2C19 pharmacogenetic reports, and the results will be used to support the future development of pharmacogenetic resources.

  • This survey includes TWO clinical case studies and will take 10-15 minutes to complete for those familiar with pharmacogenetic reports and 20 minutes if reviewing a pharmacogenetic report for the first time.
  • No identifiable information of the participants will be collected and all data will be kept strictly confidential and anonymized.
  • Before making your decision, please see attached participant information sheet for further information.

If you do decide to participate, please follow this link to the survey: Survey Link.

The survey will close on 15th August 2025.

Please also share this email with your PCN and ICB pharmacy colleagues, teams, and networks.
